WINGS serves to enhance the quality of care and life of adults affected or potentially affected by guardianship and other decision-making alternatives. WINGS is an ongoing problem-solving mechanism made up of key stakeholders.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
This free conference is a forum to advance a partnership with the Washington State Supreme Court and community members to:

  • IDENTIFY strengths and weaknesses in the state’s current approach to adult guardianship and less restrictive decision-making options;
  • ADDRESS key policy and practice issues;
  • ENGAGE in outreach, education and training, including training on supported decision-making;
  • SERVE as an ongoing problem-solving mechanism to enhance the quality of care and quality of life of adults affected or potentially affected by guardianship and other decision-making alternatives, and provide the support they need.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Individuals in Washington who are interested in improving decision support for persons with diminished decision-making ability, including:

  • FAMILY AND FRIENDS of those who are under guardianship or may need decision support in the future.
  • PROFESSIONALS who work in the fields of aging, developmental disabilities, mental illness, elder abuse prevention and intervention, or law and fiduciary related fields.
