Informing Families is seeking real life stories and/or helpful tips by Washingtonians with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, parents, and siblings with first hand experience in any of the following areas:
- Uses of Assistive Technology for home, work, learning and/or life
- Tips for successful IEP planning and collaboration
- Taking risks and making mistakes
- Setting expectations at an early age
- The role of siblings as support
- Choosing Supported Decision Making instead of Guardianship
- Travel tips and resources
- Summer recreation ideas
- Before and After: The difference that DDA services have made in your life
- Addressing “what ifs” as individuals and caregivers age
- How you prepared for and/or handled an emergency (weather, health, or natural disaster)
- Easy to fix, healthy recipes on a budget
Article length: 400-800 words
