The 411 on Economic Impact Payments

Social security card and American money dollar bills close up

The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service have announced that distribution of economic impact payments (AKA “stimulus checks”) will begin in the next three weeks and will be distributed automatically, with no action required for most people. However, some seniors and others who typically do not file returns will need to submit a simple tax return to receive the stimulus payment.

NOTE: People on SSI and other non-tax filers will need to provide personal information to the IRS in order to receive their payments. Click here to get started.
